THREE WAYS OF SEEING

Moira Kirkwood’s creative approach is embodied through the application of vivid colours and robust structural compositions.  Her artworks evoke a sense of whimsy and playfulness, encouraging viewers to develop their own narrative.  These works effectively combine vibrant aesthetics with organised creativity, resulting in pieces that are both engaging and thought-provoking.

Anke Klevjer’s practice explores the material expression of deep, often ineffable states that move within and between us.  Anke’s recent work features sculptural ceramic vessels that become dynamic, three-dimensional surfaces for both drawing and painting.  Her process-led approach draws on personal experience, visual inspirations, words, musings and themes which often circle around the existential.

For Heather Crawford, a recurring motif in her sculpture practice involves cutting through stone to create negative space, which invites viewers to engage with the work from multiple perspectives. This technique enhances the sense of balance and depth, facilitating the entry of light and fostering new visual interpretations.  Works on paper draw inspiration from natural forms and landscapes.  She emphasizes interpretative rather than literal representations, focusing on monochromatic palettes to explore line, texture, contrast, and the interplay of light and shadow.
